Delightfully Difficult by Sharon Fritchman

Hi everyone!  It’s Sharon here today to share a mixed media art journal project that I made using four different CoreStacks  –  I love how all of these stacks go together so well!  I got the idea for my project after I was going through my stacks and saw how funny Lorraine Haight Moraine’s Altered Ancestors and quotes are!! !  I knew I wanted to make a 2 page spread using one of the figures and a quote.

I began by painting my page with Gesso, letting it dry, then created my background with stamps and chalk ink pads. Next, I adhered the beautiful window from the Doors and Windows stack to my page.  I fussy cut and adhered the woman sitting on the couch from Lorraine Haight Moraine’s Altered Ancestors pack. I also fussy cut the blue butterflies and flowers from the Anemones & Friends Corestack and placed them on the page. (FYI – check out Heather’s video entitled “Fussy Cutting – What’s the Fuss?” if you haven’t seen it yet! You can find it on this page here.)

Next, I adhered the hand image printed on tissue paper from the Faces & Figures  stack to my page using gel medium. (Heather has a great video under the “ArtStacks Essentials” tab entitled “The Lowdown on Using Tissue Paper.” You can find it here.)  And finally, I finished with some more stamping and added my quote printed on tissue paper, also from Lorraine Haight Moraine’s Altered Ancestors pack.

Click on the pictures below for quick links through to the packs I used:
