‘Beauty’ by Susanna Stenman
Design Team member Susanna Stenman is here today to share a stunning decorated envelope she created using our new-release The Architect pack! Susanna used the digital version of the pack to create her tag then topped it with one of the gorgeous ladies from our newly re-released pack, The Dressmaker.
Here’s Susanna’s description of how she made this gorgeous piece:
“For this project, I worked with the beautiful limited edition ArtStacks pack – The Architect.
From the very beginning, I knew I wanted to build my project around one special element from the pack — the inspiring quote by Alvar Aalto. I absolutely love his words, “Beauty is the harmony of purpose and form” and that became the starting point for the entire piece.
As a base, I used a vintage envelope from the pack and decorated it with floral elements. I created some of the florals using a stencil and added hand-cut flowers from the beautiful design paper in the pack. I also added a playful decorative edge from the same paper. To create subtle depth, I stamped light texture with a matching ink tone and layered various elements from the pack to build interest and balance.
The elegant arched window is made from acetate, adding interest and dimension. To complete the composition, I printed a lovely lady from the renewed digital ArtStacks pack – The Dressmaker.
A mix of vintage layers, architectural details and bold pops of colour for contrast — that’s this project in a nutshell.”
