“The Windows of my Soul” by Susanna Stenman
It never fails to amaze us what people create with our papers. Susanna Stenman has cleverly taken images from our subtly-coloured Doors & Windows pack and created this bright, cheerful page with them!
Susanna said, “Here’s a little peek into my latest art journal page.
I played around with two packs, Tamara Laporte’s Artsy Animals and Doors & Windows, and it turned into such a fun, layered piece.
I started with paper from the Doors & Windows pack as my background, then added some acrylic paint to bring in more depth and softness. To build texture, I used structure paste along with stencils and stamps. This is one of my favorite ways to add interest and those little details that make a page come alive.
The three-dimensional window is from the same Doors & Windows pack. This page is printed on mixed-media paper so I was able to colour it with colouring pencils and Pitt Artist pens, giving it that vibrant, slightly whimsical feel.
The gorgeous bird is from Tam’s Artsy Animals pack and I finished with a quote from the Doors & Windows pack.
This page ended up having such a light and happy vibe. Bright colours, a curious little bird, and that feeling of letting a bit more light in.”
