Sasha Zeen – Guest Designer
Our Guest Designer, Sasha Zeen, is back with a second project. We love Sasha’s work – her use of colour is superb and her pages are beautifully balanced.
Sasha Zeen is a Ukrainian mixed media artist. Her art is intuitive and never pre-planned. She is into messy splashes of color, white space, black accents and applying paint with her fingers.
Sasha chose to create with Deb Weiers’ Wonky Backgrounds pack. Here’s what Sasha had to say:
“Working with Deb Weiers Wonky Backgrounds paper pack was a freeing experience. Most papers in the pack already have beautiful abstract artworks on them, which eliminates the necessity to pull out your own paints and brushes in order to create a whimsical mixed media piece full of marks and splashes of color. Nevertheless, strangely, these papers were the thing that inspired me to pull out my long-forgotten acrylics and get my hands messy. So much fun! It felt like I was having a dialogue with Deb Weiers, almost an artist collaboration. The sheet of paper with bold and inspiring words made it possible to create some meaningful phrases and “found poetry” on my art journal spread.
All in all, Deb Weiers Wonky Backgrounds paper pack is enough to fill a whole art journal with fun artworks with minimal supplies involved. A real pleasure to work with.”
