‘Follow Your Joy’ by Rachel Lowe

Rachel Lowe is starting the year off with a bang with this stunning woven page using images from some of our Artist Series packs, mainly those by the amazing Tamara Laporte! Tamara, also known as #willowing in Instagram, has five packs with us! The packs that Rachel used today are Wonderful World, Trick or Treat and Mystical Universe.

Rachel shares how she created this amazing page. She writes:

“This art journal page is inspired by Lisa Goddard’s paper weaving technique.

I used the beautiful mixed media paper from Tamara Laporte’s Trick or Treat pack.
I cut it into 1 inch strips and wove the strips into a shape I was happy with.
I added random black machine stitching for contrast.
I then added strips of the script tissue paper found in the Colourful Zine Kit by Claire Stead. I added this tissue directly on top of my strips.

I added the weaving to a water coloured black and white background.

I fussy cut the beautiful bird from the Wonderful World stack by Tamara Laporte and added to my page.

I finished off adding a inspirational quote from Tamara Laporte’s Mystical Universe pack.”
