Mixed Media Pieces by Susanna Stenman

Susanna Stenman is with us today with an inspirational collection of small art pieces she made using our new-release The Architect pack!

Susanna said, “I used the digital version of ‘The Architect‘ pack so I could print images as I needed them.

I printed the floor plans from the pack on tissue paper and the remaining images on heavier paper.

I built the backgrounds by layering the papers with collage medium. Once everything was dry, I distressed the surfaces by carefully tearing and roughing up selected areas. This added texture and helped the different layers blend together, giving the backgrounds a more worn and tactile look. I added soft colours with inks.

Layering, tearing and texture became the key elements, giving each piece a subtle sense of depth and character.”
