‘Accept Yourself’ by Claire Stead

Claire Stead shares how it’s possible to use a themed Halloween pack, in this case Tamara Laporte’s Trick or Treat pack, on a non-Halloween page! Using it together with another of Tam’s packs, Wonderful World, Claire has created a truly fabulous art journal page.

Here’s how Claire created this:

“I started with some of the leaves printed on translucent deli paper from the Wonderful World pack and adhered it to the page. I then colour matched some pigment powders and added them to the page, watering them down to match to the image. I painted on some leaves and added the owl from the Trick or Treat pack and extended the wings with paints.

I added some stamping using black ink and a text and dot stamp. Some splatters and white paint around the image helped pull it forward, finishing it off. Lastly I added a quote from the Wonderful World pack sticking the tissue onto card and adding it to my page.”
