12 Quick Christmas Cards by Heather McMahon

Have you seen our new release Christmas packs yet? Heather McMahon uses the new White Christmas pack with stunning artwork by Maja Lindberg to make a dozen beautiful yet quick Christmas cards! Heather used our digital packs to make these and she shares how to make these in two ways – either by physically creating them or by digitally creating them!

To Create Using Scissors and Paper. (You can use either a digital pack or a printed pack.)

Supplies:
If using a digital pack, you’ll need one copy of the ’12 Days of Christmas’ page plus the corresponding wording page. You’ll also need three copies of the background page.

If using a printed pack you’ll need one pack plus some contrasting dark green cardstock plus some extra matching background paper as you’ll need three pages of background paper.

You’ll also need 12 A6 or quarter US letter-sized blank cards. You can make these yourself from white cardstock if you like.

Method:

Step 1: Cut out the 12 images as squares. Cut out the 12 quotes, ensuring they’re all the same width as the square images and all a similar height.

Step 2: Ink all the edges then layer them onto green cardstock that has been cut a little larger than your pictures and words so the cardstock frames them. Again, ink the edges of the framed images and words.

Step 3: Cut your background paper into four pieces to match your blank cards. Ink the edges.

Step 4: Adhere the backgrounds to the blank cards then layer on the framed images and quotes. You’re done!

To Create Digitally:

Supplies:

One digital pack of ‘White Christmas’ .

Method:

Step 1: Digitally cut one of the 12 images as a square then digitally cut out the corresponding words, making sure the width of the words piece matches the width of the square image.

Step 2: Add a contrasting dark green colour around the image and the words. You could either layer them onto a green background and cut them to size, or add a digital border.

Step 3: Digitally cut the background paper into the required size. I used A6 (quarter US letter size). Add a fine border line around it.

Step 4: Layer your framed image and words onto the background. Save your file.

Step 5: Digitally cut out your next image and quote. Layer them directly onto your first card, covering the first image and words but leaving the green framing from the underneath layer showing so the two cards now match. Save your file.

Step 6: Remove the second image and words, and replace with the third ones. Save the file. Repeat with remaining images and words.

Step 7: Print as many cards as you need!

We hope you make lots of beautiful Christmas cards!
